There are some sectors that we have a high conviction about where there are not suitable opportunities for Satya to invest with a traditional private equity approach – here we look to create these opportunities.
Often these are ‘white space business’ opportunities, where we look to serve a market or provide a product which is not available as it should be across Africa. Here our approach is to partner with an experienced management team or strategic operator in the sector, and together look for the best way to address the African opportunity.
Satya’s evergreen funding structure allows us to take a patient capital approach, which we believe, is most appropriate to these opportunities.
